I bought some bontrager versions in France as it's all the shop had. They weigh a ton. Can't comment on the reliability I would guess you can achieve the same squirting some tubeless gunk into a regular inner tube with a removable valve core. I have done this before on an MTB and didn't get any punctures but no way of telling if there's any link.
