Frame has been well used over the past couple years (club runs, roubaix sportive, a few audaxes). The finish held up fine but probably needs redo-ing in a few places after bikepacking bags have rubbed the frame. Not been used much the past couple months as she got a new (carbon) all road bike but the general consensus was that it was a blast to ride. It really is a good frame.
Here it is in Girona last year.

Still looking pretty good in that photo got to say, nice to hear it's been well used too. I stumbled on this thread as recently bought a Gran Fondo (v3) and was considering getting the frame blasted, but then saw the success you had with the 3M pads.

I just dipped into the thread cos I have one too. And was surprised to see it already in the thread, It’s actually @inkleined one pictures on the first page which I bought for a lockdown project.
Looks like this now. Considering cleaning off at least some of the decals too.
(Kids toys and spare room junk are a much better backdrop than beautiful scenery imo)

Ah lovely, digging the DA9000 chainset. I spent a few hours with acetone and scotch pad, then for the large decal down the seat tube used painstripper and it felt fell off after a few mins. Lesson learned.
Is there any notable update on this, how did the frame hold up over a few winters and many miles?
