Three ultras entered, three wins has to put him in the top tier. TCR navigation would be the only question mark. Wonder if he goes for it in 2023 or sticks to this kind of surface from now.

He talked about doing it in a podcast a couple of years ago. Probably covid got in the way. Would be good to see him have a shot.
I can see the navigation would be that bit harder for someone who hasn't ridden in Europe. Especially vs someone like Strasser who lives in the middle of the route and has probably ridden loads of the roads. Strasser was let down by his navigation. If he does it again he could be a day faster due to that.

Sure. Would be good to know more about it.
Florida: Maybe he's going for the terrain that Amanda Coker used to break the Tommy Godwin record?

From club Facebook post:-
In the early hours of this morning in Florida, Leigh Timmis broke the 7 day cycling world record and added 19 miles to the previous record set by Arvis Sprude in July this year.
What made this record so impressive, is, for 3 days of the record attempt he was subject to some of the worst weather Florida has seen in November since 1932, caused by Hurricane Nicole.

I especially liked this line;the physical fitness I build is solely to allow myself to go on mental journeys

mental journeys
The (borderline delirious) state of mind with hallucinations and all on a multi-day ultra certainly counts as a "trip" of some kind, doesn't it 😉

Race Across Belgium wants a medical certificate stating I wont drop dead at their event.
I dont really want to go and hassle my GP, which is held together with spit, plasters and contempt...is there an alternative?
