Anyone have anymore details when we can expect the north Woolwich tunnel lift to open please? Can't find much online and I'm getting very bored carrying the bike up and down the stairs these past months.

Not much to say other than what a relief and a difference a vaguely sunny and not rainy ride in makes! Bit windy, otherwise very nice :)

Give LB of Greenwich a call?

Why do people with unshaven legs do club ride hand signals when commuting on their own?
-
• #30556
Well they're not club hand signals are they?
They're just trying to be helpful -

I feel bad complaining - I hate getting into the car - and sometimes some parts of the ride are great but I feel like I’m loosing more and more of what made it great
The ride to work (where I have no interest in being, it’s just become transactional) is a 42 mile round trip and I feel old and tired of being invisible to a significant minority of drivers and can’t see the point of getting run over for the trip to the office
Apologies for moping around on the thread -

A flash flood in Edinburgh today on my commute. Little red Merc not in a great place.

The first picture just leads to so many questions.
Also whoever carefully horticultured that "Scran Fir Bees" sign needs a raise, stellar work. -

check out videos from rufford ford
on YouTube if you want to see some really stupid people driving cars. -

That is pretty monster. You definitely get a pass to complain about the weather.

Did a ride out to partner’s work with her today because she’s wobbling after a driver in a Mini cut her up on the Holloway Road yesterday.
Tip of the hat to the cyclist who stopped to check she was okay, yesterday.
And a hearty not-now-you-fucking-bellend to the cyclist who was too lazy to stop, drifted out of a side road and almost collected her, this morning.
¯_(ツ)_/¯ -

Was thinking, ‘hmm, brakes are a bit fadey, must be all the standing water…’
Nope, on investigation, the blocks are nearly just shoes
Yikes
Sorry rims :(

Hey! Hello lovely lovely pot hole hiding in a flooded lane! Nice to meet you! Soooo glad we made contact! No, it’s fine, the tyres needed the sidewalls bruised! And my light jolted off the clip and tossed into the road! Maybe next time we bump into each other, you can throw me off the bike! And big shout out to South Oxfordshire Council for the hard work maintaining the highways!
You cunts -

An Audi drove at me. I biffed his wing mirror. He got out and chased me. I rode away fast.
No one was a winner.

• #30572
You're the winner Hefty. You are.
Doing the lord's work

agreed.
-
• #30574
you win just for using the word 'biffed'

Shit, I do this while walking.
Pointing out hazards to fellow humans seems like the right thing to do to me.
I'm in exactly the same situation and I agree with all of this.
