  • You can try to raise a case via ebay to get a refund and return the bike. You’ve had some parts changed though so not sure what effect that would have.

  • Sorry to hear that. Seller himself may have had no idea. The problem with buying a vintage race bike is it may well have been very heavily raced and be fucked. Heresy on this forum, but many Of these old classics actually ride like shit, however classy they look. I doubt there's much you can do to get your money back because you didn't get it checked out.

  • How long ago did you buy it? If you’re still within time, just get a return.

If not, suck it up and accept the risk, it may well be fine and nothing will happen. It’s an old bike, there’s always a risk. But it’s not as if you’ll be racing downhill in the Alps on this thing right?

  • Have you considered removing the pain near the headtube in order to get this investigated properly? You are doing the right thing about informing potential buyers of the risk but I can't see anyone punting this amount of money without some peace of mind.

    GLWS.

  • Thank you. I have not no, I’ve ridden it a year fine but yeh I’d be open to offers on it but I think the price is fair given the parts on it :-)
