thanks!
now trying to track one down...

Might find a similar bolt at a hardware store.
-
• #5455
agree but the spacer is key....
also spending £1600 on a groupset and having to bodge a bolt isnt ideal

Is the radius washer really specific to your FD?
I think you could use the bolt and washer from another shimano braze on FD

But yeah that’s annoying af. Worth a punt asking the seller to look for it?
-
• #5457
ill take a punt on that - should be fine i reckon. although silver vs black :-)
and yeah the seller has looked but cant find it

Doesn't seem that much cheaper to make up for the fact you have to deal with a Chinese company. It's also strange that it used to be available on Aliexpress but is gone now, also gone
from the Wheel top website. -

Just decided to try reusing a shifter that my LBS reckoned had a leak in. The bleed screw hex hole was rounded but I got it out and had a spare in my toolbox. Pushed the fluid in and went to put the screw back in but it won't engage. Tried the screw with the other shifter and it was no problem so does this mean the thread is fucked and if so, is there anything I can do about it?

Also... strangely the funnel adapter worked fine so I was a little surprised the screw doesn't. Is there any way to get a longer one as I assume the thread is fine lower down.
Edit... the funnel and screw seem to be approximately the same length which is perplexing. It's a bit more tapered than the bleed screw though so it might be getting into the thread lower down. Anyone have any ideas?

Train of consciousness...
I'd tapped a screwdriver into the old bleed screw. Tried to put it back in and it went in fine so... I'll use the old, fucked one for now. Still want to fix it properly tho.

The funnel doesn't have to withstand any pressure since it's open, but the bolt closes the circuit. I've seen aftermarket bleed screws, maybe they're longer?

Yeah Im definitely not jumping on it, not an early adopter :) Doesnt SRAM have a patent on having the battery on the derailleur? Might have something to do with its disappearance...

Doesnt SRAM have a patent on having the battery on the derailleur?
That’s what I’d thought too.
I’ve read on the internets that sram closed a factory in southern China and it left a lot of ex-sram employees in the region who went on to start up these new drivetrain brands…Maybe the sram lawyers have been busy

Doesnt SRAM have a patent on having the battery on the derailleur?
That doesn't mean you can't do it, you just need to agree a patent license with SRAM.
-
• #5469
Which Im sure they did. Ok they maybe did :)
-
• #5470
you just need to agree a patent license
If battery-on-dérailleur is a broadly enforceable patent, I can't see why SRAM would be interested in licensing it, or at least why anybody else would be interested in purchasing a licence at the kind of price SRAM would be asking. They are already a mass manufacturer of complete end product systems using their own IP, it's not like they're a lone inventor in a shed looking to monetise IP without having to find the capital to build a factory.

are all 12sp shimano chains cross-compatible between road and mtb?
-
• #5472
I don't think there's a road-specific Shimano 12s chain... they basically use the MTB chains on the road groupsets. All of the product codes for their 12s chains have the initial "M".

Morning all, anyone know what a mixed 6770/6870 Di2 mini-group with external battery would be worth? It's 6770 shifters, Y cable, BB external junction box, and all cables (cut and soldered to route into a non-Di2 frame), 6870 front and rear mech for 11speed and charger, all in good working order, no dings or scratches...
Cheers in advance

With an external battery, very little IMO. Maybe better to sell separately since spares are so hard to come by
i bought a di2 12sp group off here but annoyingly a bolt to attach the front mech to my frame is missing. i dont think this is some sort of complex bolt; but does anyone know the part number or have one spare?
