  • I've been reading Charlie Porter's book on what artists wear.. Porter clearly has an aversion to the luxury business but yet is in thrall to the fashion brands. At times he enters Easton Ellis descriptions of the garms without a hint of irony.
    The earlier shouty bloke in this thread made a good point about second hand clothes but I fear that the discourse around thrifting is essentially just Adornoesque negative around the luxury business.

  • Shouty troll made some points but my experience is I tend to keep nice garments, they last longer etc. My assumption is that others will also hold onto them so they don’t often end up on the second hand market. As such it’s a slim chance that in a second hand shop I will find the garment I want in the correct size and colour.

    But hey, new clothes are terrible, we are cunts and disgusting pieces of shit but thankfully he has mounted his high hobby horse and revved off loudly into the distance.
