Cheers @aggi @Mr_Smyth @chrisbmx116 . Will check out wickes, John Lewis etc and also homebyme . The UK’s #1 kitchen forum in fine form.
Will keep sink under window but want to move the washing machine very slightly which is going to require moving some plumbing. Pipes running up the side of the window to an inconveniently placed gas meter I expect is going to be a struggle to tidy up / build in.
More q’s to follow no doubt. Thanks.

Currently ringing around every brick merchant in the UK looking for my perfect grey-purple stock. It’s very time consuming being a nerd.

Print some wallpaper?

Nice bricks though.

Maybe just an full wall LED display, change when we get bored.

Probably the most cost effective way of doing it, go for it!

Presumably you already know what they are called if you have that photo ha.

Cheers. Obvs need to level the wardrobe still but a 3mm skim should give me around a 3mm shadow gap around the Pax which should look quite minimal. Gonna be a fun job pushing the wardrobe back in once it's been plastered.
On the look out for nice floating shelf options and a mirror with in built lighting that wouldn't be out of place in a bedroom (preferably dimmable).

Oh aye, those are nice.
I wanted Freshfield Lane selected dark but apparently this year and most of 2023’s batch are already sold. Making do with Ibstock Crowborough.
In the process I did come across off-white calcium silicate bricks that I might use on-show internally.

Has anyone used Crittall windows or doors?
-
• #4915
I'm interested in how expensive the T60 range is (thermally broken), but everything else seems to be aesthetics over performance?
You can source older Crittall windows/casements/doors second hand if you're after single glazing/steel on a budget.

I'm pretty sure you're not allowed on this thread unless you have them
-
• #4917
Jokes. It’s all about triple glazed alu clad timber

• #4918
I’d be surprised if anything by Crittall can meet the new U value requirements

New flat has them, i'm going to have to refurb the inside (outside is about to be done by contractors), thankfully they are galvanised ones from the late 50’s, really wanted to replace them with ‘heritage’ slimline aluminium but the estimates were about 25k for the fancy german stuff and about 12k for the very good uk system (not crittall) but being on the 6th floor and all the reveals needing to be accurately chased to allow for the thicker frames meant it was a non-starter. that and the likelihood of getting permission from Dulwich Estates was slightly above zero.
Contacted a company fitting 10-12mm double glazed units but they told me the windows were the wrong kind of crittall.
There are a few steel window competitors in the U.K. who are probably cheaper than crittall but still not going to be cheap, i would fit aluminium if possible.

What's the latest with your gaff - any closer to anything?

This is the correct answer.

just had a shit load of documents from solicitor to go through after weeks of chasing for them. I almost don’t want to utter the word ‘exchange’ but all 3 parties concerned are keen to get this done so maybe soon....
Edit: i forgot to mention the buyers broker/solicitor getting the address wrong on mortgage agreement meaning no valuation survey was booked for weeks and it meant going back up the lender chain because this cannot be changed easily FFS.

This is what I'd like, but I don't think planning will accept.

Got a few quotes for T60, its looking quite pricey. Aesthetic wise I'm not sure the heritage aluminium does it for me. Its the flat profiles which just don't look as good.
This is the best price we've had so far, obv have to add VAT

Do you have the details of other steel window manufacturers?
Needs secret door between rooms, but apart from that good work.
