• New flat has them, i'm going to have to refurb the inside (outside is about to be done by contractors), thankfully they are galvanised ones from the late 50’s, really wanted to replace them with ‘heritage’ slimline aluminium but the estimates were about 25k for the fancy german stuff and about 12k for the very good uk system (not crittall) but being on the 6th floor and all the reveals needing to be accurately chased to allow for the thicker frames meant it was a non-starter. that and the likelihood of getting permission from Dulwich Estates was slightly above zero.

Contacted a company fitting 10-12mm double glazed units but they told me the windows were the wrong kind of crittall.

There are a few steel window competitors in the U.K. who are probably cheaper than crittall but still not going to be cheap, i would fit aluminium if possible.

  • just had a shit load of documents from solicitor to go through after weeks of chasing for them. I almost don’t want to utter the word ‘exchange’ but all 3 parties concerned are keen to get this done so maybe soon....

Edit: i forgot to mention the buyers broker/solicitor getting the address wrong on mortgage agreement meaning no valuation survey was booked for weeks and it meant going back up the lender chain because this cannot be changed easily FFS.
