I have a couple of nitecore tiki's, I sometimes carry one to use as a quick blast light. I made a finger loop holder doofer using an old headtorch band so it is accessible & easy to use on the move. Photo doesn't do justice to brightness it is fairly narrow spot though.

If you want bigger / brighter / wider flood then the larger nitecore should be a good option but I have no direct experience of using.

Do you rate your gun? Was thinking about asking for a cheaper imitation for Christmas.

I do. I've found its effectiveness depends on timing; as long as I use it fairly quickly after a run/workout whilst muscles are still warm then it helps me recover a little quicker.

Had a busy week last week and didn't get out or do any excersise. 1st run this week was tough and I felt so tight. Its crazy how the body adjusts to routines. Last night's run was more of a plod.

I’ve just started back to a routine, 2 days is a routine right? And fuck me moving is hard.

Don’t stop moving. Ever.

"Why is running at this pace so hard - it's not like it's fast"
-

I don’t use it as much as I thought I would but on the flip side I’m nursing a long term tendon issue so have a vastly reduced exercise regime compared to when I bought it.
For my tight calves there’s nothing quite like it (although a foam roller ain’t far off) and it’s great for self massaging the neck/shoulders/lower back when your partner is frankly useless. Allegedly. -

This is pure genius. I'll take 6.

Thanks for the suggestion.. I bought one (the torch) .. one more thing to forget to charge but let’s see how I get on.
Can we start a famous LFGSS list for ‘finger loop holder doofers’ - otherwise I’ll repurpose some of the kids loom bands

Happy to make some finger loop doofers if they'd help folks. Might need ring size else if they're baggy/tight they'd be a bit shit.

I'd love some shoe suggestions. I just got back to the UK and am going to be back to running on road and mud and I don't have any suitable shoes. I've got a couple of pairs of Salomons for trail (slab ultra + sense pro) but running in the Sense Pros on flat seems to give me calf issues and I'd like to keep the ultras for events. In general my feet are pretty easy going in terms of shoes, I like a bit of a toe box but it doesn't need to be huge. I'm also a 9.5 in case anyone is shifting anything.
What I'm after...
Road training workhorse - a long lasting road shoe with reasonable amounts of support. I'm not looking to go super fast on road, but will probably be doing some decent mileage. A trail crossover type shoe could also work.
Mud shoe - a shoe that can handle slippy mud and slick conditions and hold up to winter conditions.
Thanks

I like the Nike react infinity run flyknit (rolls off the tongue) as a comfy, distance shoe. It’s very stable without actually being a stability shoe - no med posts or nonsense, just a large platform, not too squishy and an upper that holds your foot.
Some people complain that it’s uncomfortable on their foot arch - but it’s not a problem I’ve had. Maybe a concern if you have low arches.
Solereview is good - https://www.solereview.com/nike-react-infinity-run-2-review/ and it links to other similar shoes

Brooks every time. Low hype, comfortable and last twice as long as any others.
I have a set of brooks launch 8 which are about 900km old and have probably another 900km in them.
I had a pair of brooks trail shoes (pure grit) that lasted nearly 4 years

I think you’ve got to hit the shops and compare a bunch of different brands. I’m an Asics fan but I went through New Balance, Mizuno, Nike and Salomons to get there.
Best tip I had was mix pairs in the shop so an Asics on the left and a Nike on the right. It’ll make your preferred choice leap out rather than the back and forth of trying different pairs on the treadmill (go to a shop with a treadmill). -

What I'm after...
What's your budget?
If you're cheap like me then I can suggest Asics gel pulse. I do the majority of road and dry off-road miles in these and they last ages.
If you want a bit more toe box room then Saucony should generally work for you. I might have a pair of Saucony ride in uk9.5 that I need to sell on.

Watched last night. Nice they returned the year after and both beat their previous efforts!
Does anyone have a Musclegun Carbon and can tell me the specs of the charger? @inchpincher - I searched the thread and looks like you have one?
I'm hoping I can buy a generic one for less than the £15 the official replacement charger costs.
