  • The men's team are in the 11th, women's are in the 6th. Both are going extremely well this season with the women's 1st in the league and the men's 3rd.

If you're over this side of London (the ground is in Forest Gate) it's a lovely place to watch football. Everyone's very friendly, you can have a couple of tins on the terrace, and it's 100% fan owned. @Ben6899

  • Thanks for the details, mate. Much appreciated. I'm not in Forest Gate, but it's easy enough to get to.

What kinds of numbers turn up to watch the blokes?

  • Depends on the game but usually at least 150-200. Weirdly, the Men's team don't play at the Old Spotted Dog atm. It's having its changing rooms redone and, apparently, the women's league's rules allow them to get changed at the school across the road but the men's doesn't (despite the women playing at a higher level?).

They're temporarily playing at Wadham Lodge Stadium (also known as 'the stray dog') in Walthamstow or very occasionally on the main pitch at Hackney Marshes. But from what I understand they'll be back at the OSD by the New Year.

I don't think the men's team are playing at home again this year (possibly cos of the above). But if you are thinking of getting to a game, the women's are at home to Dulwich on the 27th, which should be spicy as there's a fun rivalry between the clubs. Also, Brentford in Feb should be good.

Anyway, I'll stop rabbitting/recruiting haha. Everything you need to know is here: https://www.claptoncfc.co.uk/
