That seems weirdly heavy for a single pole tent.

£300 for a full rim brake R7000 groupset is decent.

It does, doesn't it? Equivalent Naturehike is 1.6 kg, so not sure what's going on here. Will likely take a punt and see what it's like

Can't think where the weight is. Crap fabric? Maybe as simple as heavy pegs. Similar alpkit is 1.2kg! More expensive obviously though

Welp we’ll find out - order chucked in now, so will report back with weights and first impressions once it arrives

So DPD inexplicably delivered the Zastrugi tent from PX less than 24 hours after I ordered it, so I got to take advantage of the nice weather today to get some first impressions.
Bagged weight is 2.1 kg as stated, broken down as follows:
Inner - 709 g
Outer - 632 g
Pole - 481 g
Pegs - 182 g (11 at 16 g each)If you ditch the outer bag (100 g) and the peg/pole bags, you could get this to squeeze just under the 2 kg mark I reckon

Pitching the tent feels very familiar if you’ve ever messed about with a Naturehike - decent enough stitching, pole is fine and should last a while, pegs will likely bend at the first sign of a rock. The outer fabric is pretty much exactly the same as on the Cloud Peak 2 I had, plus the bathtub floor comes nicely high. The design is obviously going to be prone to winds on the flat edges, and my only real complaint is I’d like an additional guy point on each of these.
Interior is roomy for one, cosy for two, and the porch is adequate. Nice big baffle on the outer zip and a separate mesh inner door are nice touches. Zips aren’t branded but feel decent enough. Doesn’t come with a groundsheet (tarp was in case I wanted to return it) but the floor feels strong enough for normal usage.
Overall very pleased - highly suspect this came from the same catalogue as the Cloud Up or the Alpkit Soloist. For just over 50 quid definitely worth a punt and cheaper than any freestanding-inner tent I’ve seen for a while.

Has anyone used the Mollymawk bars from Planet X? Bought a couple of pairs for £4 each but can't get over how bizarre they look.

Are they any good? Also what size do you usually get/think you need in the DHB?

I have 3 dhb merino base layers - 1x ss 150gsm, 1x ss 200gsm and 1x ls with zipped tall neck.
They are very good and I found the sizing to be fine, I have medium in both short sleeve ones and would wear L, sometimes even XL (I'm looking at you, Sportful) for normal cycling clothing (other tops I have are Ale, Milltag, Gore...)
The long sleeve is a large as I usually wear it on its own as a top to get into work and fits well without being skin tight
Only one that does come up smaller is the lighter 150gsm, which is a bit shorter and feels a bit "shrunk", but not uncomfortable to wear as it has a decent amount of stretch, so actually pretty good for a base layer.
Also keep in mind wiggle returns are free and easy, so might be worth ordering a couple of sizes if in doubt. Will def bag a ls crew neck while they're 25 quid each!

I got one and am impressed. It's super sex-club tight, but the length is good (arms and torso). I'd say pretty true to standard sizing if you can accept the hug it gives.

Good info both of you. Cheers!

Wiggle returns are £2.99 now unless you’re a ‘Wiggle +’ power user

dhb merino LS zip neck (m_200) arrived. Size wise it is more fitted than a LS Icebreaker, a little shorter on the torso/arms but still a good fit for my race snake build.

Thanks, was looking for a new lock for the cargo bike and this looks like it’ll fit the bill. Shame it’s Amazon but 50% saving…
Ah yup, didn't account for the added postage - fixed!
