the cunife humbucker set costs as much as the guitar
The Fender reissue set does, but you can get a CuNiFe set from Mojo for a bit less, or a set from Creamery for another bit less.
The Creamery pickups don’t have CuNiFe pole pieces, but they are pretty splendid. My mate had a set in a 70s Thinline Tele and, after he swapped them out for a (very expensive) original 70s Fender set, the Creamery set are still his favourite pickups.

Probably the easiest guitar to play that I've owned! And so well made for the money.

This is good info, thanks!

Maybe I could play in standard tuning / I'm a simple, lazy guitarist...
... but writing sad, reverb soaked progressions with D,A#,D,G,A#,D tuning has been very cathartic since the clocks turned back. -

This is hahhhhmazing. *hats off to this dude.

Oh, I'll be all over that later. Big fan of Marc Ribot, so this'll be right up my street, I expect.

It seems like there is not much interest in my Squier and amp, so looking to sell it elsewhere. What’s the best place for it? Is it Reverb?
I’m London based if it makes any difference.

Nah

Eternal do some nice stuff. I have a hollowbody Tele of theirs that I got secondhand, it's a very early one so has some flaws but the weight and neck feel/finish are fab. So, equally, nah.

Dave aka Mr Eternal recently did a refret and some wiring work on my mustang, so unfortunately I know the work is v good. I’ve also never owned but often coveted both teles and chambered body guitars. I might have to drop in on him again

Just realised he is 3 miles from home. I didn’t recognise the name but did recognise the style and thought they looked like the guitars built up the road. It’s been a long week.

Ah you must be not too far from me, I’m over in Worthing so Dave was the recommended refretting wizard via the local guitar shop

I’m in Barnham. I’ve not seen a sign so I don’t think it’s a browsing sort of place. Would be great if it was.

Nah, he’s not always there, I had to post some small parts through the letter box at one stage. Cool little estate though, Foundry Motorcycles are in a neighbouring unit

I'm considering selling my 1963 Gibson SG Standard. Has anyone got any specific advice on selling on eBay vs Reverb?
Cheers
-
• #13320
My individual experience suggests there are fewer timewasters on Reverb than eBay, but YMMV.
-
• #13321
Thanks mate. Yeah I have the feeling you're right.

Personally I think the relic looks pretty bad on that! (If this helps talk you out of it at all)
-
• #13323
Grain on the top of that is lovely - really pretty thing.
You definitely shouldn't get it btw ;)

Is this right? Looks wrong to me, but I know nothing.

So you can rock the bridge back with the tremelo arm?
I’m good thanks, I owned a Revstar for a short while - nice guitar, but I realised I’m just more of a Fender guy.
