  • According to ad people that's a Bonneville

  • I can still get off a chair without groaning, so the CJ can wait.

  • If anyone is looking for some RTW MC adventures done properly check these guys out..

Spotted they put a Kyrgyzstan video up and caught my interest, late version DR650 with the right mods but maybe not quite the right tyres for where they were. Seem to have a much rosier attitude than most and are just taking it as it comes.

  • FINALLY... after years of procrastination and bollocksing around... I've booked my IBT (Initial Basic Training) for next week and will be able to get out biking proper!
Obviously the weather is going to be muck and I'll be freezing cold for two days but I'm really excited to get it done!

  • My much used AX8 with added PSA and safety feature.

  • https://instagram.com/big_bikes_big_adventures was already out of the hole by the time I got there, but clearly he was knackered!

  • Anyone (of a certain age) wanting to go down a worm hole - have a look on FB for Wow Superbike. That’s your evening wasted! 😀

  • Be safe out there folks.

Saw the aftermath of a Japanese car (stickers, lowered, spoiler) and a Yam MT (unmistakable yellow wheels)
No rider or driver in sight, hopefully nothing too serious for the rider but it shit me right up.

  • Very low bright sunlight at the moment. Plenty of ways to have an accident. Take care if you're riding.

  • Low sun.... Always reminding myself that when I can see, the oncoming traffic can't. It's an unfortunate paradox.

  • I walk past this everyday, it's covered in dust. Found out yesterday it hasn't moved since 1991. Owner died, it's in a pay carpark.

  • Anyone killing time on Sunday, NEC Classic Motorbike auction live at the moment.

  • Instagram algorithm has decided that what I want to see in my explore page is countless tribute videos from sportsbike riders in USA to their fallen riding buddies and loved ones, this is being periodically interspersed with motorcycle accident recovery porn of people who've gotten back on the bike after various amputations and other gorey incidents...

Needless to say I could do without these but it's a good reminder to stay safe.

As a side note it seems like anyone in USA who owns a sportsbike only ever rides them in jeans, tee-shirt and sneakers which can't be doing much good for mortality rates...

  • Wait. What. That bike has been sitting in a public carpark since 1991?!

  • They're better to ride than they look. And having a roof and windscreen is great in bad weather. A future classic and a milestone in urban transport. The engine is annoying though. Needs a torquey 500.

  • Must have been 2001 as they were only introduced in 2000 but still a long time to sit undisturbed!

  • ten years before it was even made? Probably unlikely :p

Seen two around my way that have sat for 5 years +, made offers on both, but both were in significantly worse condition than owners think. Both ended up taken away by scrap.

  • That's odd. I stopped.and chatted to a bloke who was looking it over. He told me he had been working there since 1991 and it had been there since then. He must have got his wires crossed.

Well I just walked past again and...

  • Maybe another bike had sat there for the decade before so it just became the same bike in his head.

  • It lives

  • And looking mighty purposeful.

  • Need to get a baffle for it really, it's stinking loud and don't want to be a prick around here. Louts on bikes have a reputation.

  • If you wheelie everywhere the exhaust will be pointing towards the ground lowering the db's.

  • If you ride faster, the noise will be spread out over a greater distance and therefore be quieter.
That's real science and you don't need to check it, just trust me.
