No they are basically resources hoarders.

Given a bit of start-up capital they'd be buying all the fresh water supplies and bemoaning having to sell it back to the local population in bottles.

Yes it is the same part of the brain that makes you want to look for parts at bike jumbles that makes you want to look for dead animals and treasure on beaches. And its the same hit of dopamine you get when you find something. I don't think our custom saffron bike freind has this experience. Who's to say what's better or more meaningful, but it's def. different
