My money would be on Jess Phillips in a rap battle.

Thanks, she seems to be a pretty tough person with all she has gone through.
"Labour endured a catastrophic collapse in support in the last general election in 2019 in “Red Wall” seats in its former heartlands of northern England and the Midlands, driven largely by frustration that the party was blocking Brexit. "
Some research quoted in the Gruaniad showed those people just want no immigrants, so well, perhaps that also explains Labour not saying much about anything.
It is the Greens for me, which have a chance in Stormont thanks to STV. (a form of PR) But of course we have no government and new elections coming, but then what, will we even have a government?
And the GPNI does NOT accept corporate donations which means it is not rich so extra election cycles really suck that way.
And it means it is not bought :)

She genuinely sounds like a person you'd enjoy having lunch with. Unlike 95% of other politicians

All of this lies as a example https://www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/news/politics/government-to-disperse-400-asylum-seekers-from-blackpools-metropole-hotel-3912392
🤦🏻♀️
Everything a tory mp or anyone connected to them says is a lie.

At last they've found a solution to overcrowding in the Houses of Parliament:

if you enjoyed that piece, I recommend her episode of Full Disclosure with James O'Brien, also good episodes with Kier Starmer, Andy Burnham and Mick Lynch among others

Remember that clip some weeks back where Truss was gushing over the industriousness of Chinese workers and slating British workers? She seemed to think that productivity was a measure how fast a single worker carried out a manual task, not how automation allows a worker to complete more, and more complex, task in the same time frame.
-
• #79114
Tories of Truss' ilk are unable to imagine that business / managerial classes might bear any blame for the UK's ills. Far easier to blame workers than capital.
-
• #79115
That's not fair. They could be considering local politicians, green, plaid, lib Dems. Monster raving loony.
It's not just Tory or labour.
I've swung vote all my life. -
• #79116
Aren't all you swingers off to the Reform Party?

I wasn't including myself in that, and I'd generally vote green unless it made a blind bit of difference in my massive labour majority constituency, but that's not who I was talking about or what swing voters means.

Rayner for PM
-
• #79119
Let's get starmer in first.
-
• #79120
Let's get starmer out first.
The only time that nasal-bleating former head of imprisoning people has managed to look vaguely electable is when he was up against Truss.
I have no faith at all he has the ability to lead a victory at the next General Election. Even with the country in the appalling mess it’s going to be in by that time.
I reckon Angela Rayner could.
-
• #79121
Yeah, let's keep voting Tory or abstaining until there's someone who precisely matches every single belief I personally have, because I think the whole country will come round to my way of thinking...
-
• #79122
Personally I can't see Angela Rayner ever winning an election. Think she'd be too divisise
-
• #79123
No. Let’s stop putting unrelatable faces drawn on wooden spoons in charge of the party because they are considered by the stupid members to be well qualified professionals and choose an actual empathetic human who actually appeals to swing voters.
Basically the opposite of what you said.
-
• #79124
Quite the role reversal isn't it?
-
• #79125
Shit. You’re right. She’s divided you and me already.
Who’s left? #anyonebutstreeting
Maybe the green party.
