I think pelvic injuries might be a feature of snowboarding too. I know one who dislocated (?) The cartilage joint at the bottom of his pelvis by landing sideways on his hip after a jump.
Frankly the idea of being irreversibly strapped to a plank gives me the jibblies, but I always have my ski bindings set pretty light anyway.
An anecdote rather than a statistic but... I don't know any snowboarders with busted knees but a good proportion of skiers have done either an ACL, MCL or both!
I thought it was generally accepted that snowboarders break their wrists, skiers their knees.
