• ...sorry for silence, I was at a trade show end of last week (not Rouleur Live!) but v quick responses - and thank for feedback all.

@user1411692 not directly MTB, but recognise the value of cross-over, more versatile products. I think the advancement in fibre & material tech makes this easier to attain,
@King_Saxlingham thinking was to make them possible to wear over widest range of garments underneath; from regular bibs, though to insulated shorts/trousers, tucked in upper layers, and full-on overshoe/gaiters over winter boots, hence trying to get the widest range of adjustment in the ('fishermans'?) waist and elasticated ankle. Perhaps we need to make this clearer, and consider what a rider will be mainly wearing/doing in them? ie commute (over jeans with a belt) vs riding (skintight bibshorts) is probably a size up.

Zip length is to allow an overshoe-clad boot with cleats unimpeded access.

...It's v frustrating for me too at 6'4", having to commit to limited leg-lengths in a seam-sealed garment with zippered ankles!

@user141692 my thinking here is connecting up with a long pair of overshoes, so it looks 'right' and not a gap to the shoe/boot top ....as above, I wish I had a magic wand for this :/
