• I bought this new in 2015 - it’s a kind of reissue / tribute to the original 85 Freestyler. Looks very cool and so much fun to ride. Basically it was a gift to 10 year old me, I loved BMX when I was a kid but never got to own a really good one. I haven’t ridden it much, I don’t have a local pump track or skate park and I am getting old, but I really love it. Sadly I have to be realistic and accept that I have way, way too many bikes and this needs to go to someone who will ride it more regularly. I am hoping I might find someone who likes it on here, so i don’t have to face the horror of other bike forums.

To save space I took it apart a few years ago and stored it away. The steel frame is in excellent condition, hardly a mark, it is padded and wrapped in plastic. There is a bit of rust on some of the bolts eg. Axle nuts and some very light pitting on the chrome of the cranks and handlebars, but everything works perfectly, all the bearings are smooth etc.

I was thinking of doing a rebuild (MGOF style) with modern BMX components eg black cranks and wheels, which I reckon would look really good, but I just don’t have the time and have got plenty of other bike projects on the go. This bike is still in bits but everything is there including both brake levers and callipers and all cables.

See below for pictures in current state as well as spec list and stock pictures of complete bike. I am happy to unwrap the frame for more pictures if required.

I paid £500 for it in 2015, which was RRP. I can either sell it as it is currently (disassembled) but complete with all parts for £225, or I could put it back together and sell for £250 ready to ride. I would need a couple of days to build it back up. Happy to consider reasonable offers.

Collection in London NW3, or might be able to meet somewhere north of the river. I wouldn’t mind posting the disassembled bike within the UK at additional cost, but if I am rebuilding it, collection only please.

Please get in touch if you have any questions. Thanks for looking!

    Dave

  • Price drop for the weekend!

  • Another price drop

  • And another price drop!

  • Jeez what a bargain

  • I wanted one of these so badly in 1985 I would've sold my Grandma. Trying to convince the 50 year old me that I really do need a BMX...failing so far. Mind you, if it were chrome/blue I'd have it in a flash. GLWS, as Skully sez this is a mad bargain.

  • i really want this to learn bmx when my offspring is in the playground, but am skint and have no space.

btw if you are in NW3, Cantelowes is just a spin away :)

  • Haha that’s true, but my much cooler 22 year old nephew tells me that aging, inept bmxers would be looked upon with deepest scorn at cantelowes!!

  • Thanks all - I think it’s a bargain too. Just trying to be realistic and make some space… and I would so much rather sell on here!

  • from what i can see it is a pretty inclusive place. and what does he know ? 22 is like super old like already

  • All true, I need to htfu / get over myself. Nevertheless, this bike is still available!
