  • Damn, I really want mac n cheese now but I promised I’d cook something else for dinner.

  • wowww...cathedral city ? Co Armagh ? That's where i live !!! Must check it out, I haven't seen it yet in the vegan section of the supermarkets..must check it out...thanks for that !

  • i googled it..i think it's Cornish...i got that a bit wrong..lol

  • @hollow__legs i like the pumpkin in that, and @IrPOWERranger also will not be adding mushrooms either but thank you for the recipe @snottyotter i'm a bit early in veganism to freehand the sauce like that but some of those add ins sound great

  • Bulk protein powders

Which did you go for? Was considering the basic Vegan powder, gets decent reviews

  • I've made this mac and cheese loads of times and it's always come out amazing. I don't bother with broccoli in it. I do pour it into an ovenproof dish and top it with panko breadcrumbs and bake for 15 mins at the end.

  • Picked up a slow cooker yesterday, and made a rather brilliant cauliflower dahl soup (ok, it was supposed to be a lentil/cauli curry, but I played fast and loose with with the measurements, and things went awry). Anyone got any recommended slow cooker recipes?

  • I ran out of time to make Mac and cheese the last couple of days, maybe I'll knock one up at the weekend and try and do a vaguely more accurate recipe. Not sure where I'm going to find the time to write 3000 words about growing up to preface it though.

  • this is the best way to skip that tosh: https://www.justtherecipe.com/

  • current projects thread?

    Thanks @Cazakstan

  • Get your media team’s editor to find a ghostwriter?

  • Yup, the basic one.

Went for vanilla and white chocolate coconut flavours which are both nice enough.

  • Anyone got any good soup recipes? Preferably something smooth, generally prefer that to something chunky! Current go to is a spicy sweet potato, chilli and coconut number.

  • Just boil things you like and wizz them up, it's almost impossible to fuck up.

  • Potato chilli and coconut sounds good though.

  • One batch of lager and crisp soup coming up.

  • What flavor crisps?

  • I reckon a potent salt and vinegar to cut through the lager overtones.

  • I think you're missing a trick, salt and vinegar can be added by yourself, prawn cocktail however, isn't so easily veganised, and whilst as crisps they kinda remind me of unwashed dick, in a soup I think their flavor can really flourish.

  • Roasted tomato and garlic soup.

Baking tray of maybe 3-400g salad tomatoes cut in half with the core chopped out with a bit of oil and a few drops of balsamic, roast until falling apart. Leave to cool for a minute then take skins off once roasted.

Roast half a bulb of garlic in tin foil with a dribble of oil whilst the tomatoes are roasting.

Sauté onion/carrot/celery until translucent. Squidge in the roasted garlic, peeled roasted tomatoes and add some veg stock. Simmer for a few mins then blend.

    Done. Serve with cheez toasties.

  • Onion, garlic, chillies, ginger, red lentils, coconut milk, stock cube, whatever vegetables are to hand. Cook and blitz.

But yeah, almost impossible to fuck up soup.

Edit - another one - roast brussels in the oven, make them into soup. Fucking great.

  • Sprouts are one of the greatest vegetables ever
