Out of curiosity, why cant you use the brake surface?

You could mount those on an actual track bike or disc hubs and chose not to use the brake surface.
That is what i meant. Vive le rim brake !

Oh right! I read it as "you will not be able to" instead of "you have the choice not to". Makes sense. Vive le rim brake & GLWS!
