That report doesn’t include that the child hit the wheels of the trailer rather than was hit by the cab, so it seems she did collide with the lorry rather than was hit by it. Very sad.
It does I think...second paragraph.
Sounds like the poor girl had just learned to ride a bike and lost control before going into the road and colliding with the side a passing lorry that was doing about 12mph. What a horrendous freak accident.

Collision investigator PC Steve Fair reported that the bicycle travelling down the hill towards the junction of Church Street failed to stop at the end of the lane and went into the A338 colliding with the first or second nearside tyre of the trailer of the lorry.
