I get the feeling that the right are more scared of being on the pitchforks than having to use them.
I think their coalition-building comes from their basic principles e.g. sovereignty, personal liberty, national pride etc. appealing to various types of people and being vague enough that they can morph into whatever each group wants to see in them. That's how they managed to convince so many people that Brexit would deliver exactly what every person wanted it to, despite many of the desired outcomes being inescapably contradictory.
Oh for sure, policy-wise they're fucked because they can't admit that the initial response to Brexit has to be damage limitation and that the sunlit uplands,if they exist, are decades away. I still think that they're better at coalition-building because they are happy to accept off-topic disagreements.
