The area was in decline for decades, a poorly conceived opportunity lays waste the social fabric that was once the heartbeat of London. Much like other districts that have become sanitised, soulless, exclusive, characterless, without atmosphere, identity or purpose.
Grayson Perry famously said that ‘rich people don't create culture’ with reference to a lack of social housing in town. Same can be said about the watering holes, small independent shops, diners, cafes gone now forgotten
