We should start another thread for this meet up, sounds like fun. Centrist dad fight club. First rule of centrist dad fight club; not in the face, or very hard, maybe we can just compromise.

The grooming party sounds more interesting, could do with beard sculpting and working on a new look.

They all sound like things that'd be included.

That's a typical Wests Beers these days.

Is the first rule not to sigh and roll your eyes at everything?
-
• #1959
We'll need to have a meeting to figure out a first rule we can all agree on.

Apart of centralist that’s pretty bang on.

Surely no-one actually identifies as a centrist dad? Even if they are.

Reclaim it.

RS being 'othered'! Typical centrist dad work from Keith.

Hai!
I’ve been a dad for 15 years and have only in the last couple of years given up on the socialist dream and strode purposefully toward centre. I feel like I did ok on hanging on to my principles for a decent amount of time after it was clear they were worse than useless in any practical sense.
When’s the next The Rest is Politics out?

I guess I consider myself to be somewhat centrist, despite being solidly of the economic left. That's mainly because I don't like dismissing any particular point on the basis of the background of the person making it and I'm enormously frustrated by the "left's" astonishing ability to dissolve into infighting and purity spirals. The right does have at least seem to have its head screwed on with regard to tolerance of disparate viewpoints, possibly because they have to in order to hold together the weird, otherwise unworkable coalition, that is the Tory party.

Good point, well demonstrated by the five prime ministers in the last six years and amazingly coherent policy they have managed to deliver

yeah, I would have thought so too, but then a whole load of people came here to out themselves as centrist dads and shortly after that Starmer joined in too, so wtaf?

The current rabble that masquerade as the Tory party are getting close to enacting the sole outstanding demand of The Chartists:
annual elections. -

It’s me! Well remembered. I’ve been aggressively avoiding the internet for a few years, but thought I’d give it another chance.
Hope all is good with you and yours.

Oh for sure, policy-wise they're fucked because they can't admit that the initial response to Brexit has to be damage limitation and that the sunlit uplands,if they exist, are decades away. I still think that they're better at coalition-building because they are happy to accept off-topic disagreements.
-
• #1974
Good at coalition-building because, beyond any nuanced differences, there’s broad agreement on the right over who’s going to ‘get it’ when the torches/pitchfork brigade are mobilised? : )
little bit of editing

Didn't realise Gullis was sacked as being a minster yesterday, appears to of been done very quietly
well, "centrist" is fighting talk.
"dad" i'm more relaxed about.
