Oh for sure, policy-wise they're fucked because they can't admit that the initial response to Brexit has to be damage limitation and that the sunlit uplands,if they exist, are decades away. I still think that they're better at coalition-building because they are happy to accept off-topic disagreements.

I guess I consider myself to be somewhat centrist, despite being solidly of the economic left. That's mainly because I don't like dismissing any particular point on the basis of the background of the person making it and I'm enormously frustrated by the "left's" astonishing ability to dissolve into infighting and purity spirals.
