  • All reassuring. This and the conversations with dealerships.

Good video on tyre pressure where the advice is to go slightly harder with the pressure then ride a stretch of road in your normal style taking out a couple of psi each time until you find the pressure that feels right to you front and back. The pressures you are using is well within the ranges he discusses using.

  • conversations with dealerships

    Stop worrying and enjoy!

  • As always, I am the bearer of shit. You MAY have a defective tyre. This will prove very difficult to sort out with the dealer and the tyre manufacturer. Good luck.
If you have found a suitable pressure which works, good job. If not, you may have a defective tyre. Getting it replaced will prove difficult. I am speaking from personal experience.
The positive - I did get a new tyre. The ‘negative’ whilst I was waiting for the matter to be resolved, I ordered a new bike!
Good luck and stay safe - do not take chances with tyres!

  • Two-smoke in the morning sun. Damn it was slippery in the ditch today.

All things considered, at least he's not taking the piss with the price.

  • How easy is it to do a fork/wheel swap to get a disc up front? Of all the modifications and ‘upgrades’, that would have been the first on my list.

  • The brakes aren’t too bad on those. Seems spendy for one that isn’t a real ‘c’ though.

  • spendy

    Bro, do you even bikes?

  • The price would be 5k more for the c in the UK. The bikes seem a lot more reasonable over in the states.

  • Desert sleds are very on trend atm, taken over from faux bobbers, so the prices are quite firm for them. Looks nice but can imagine it a bit of a lardy old beast off road

  • I’d sooner spend my money here. Not even sorry

  • Damn - it’s weird how some prices are so much higher in the UK and vice versa. My mate paid 7k for a nice (not perfect) original C a while back. Got to say the sled mods would detract value unless it comes with a pile of the original parts.

  • I love that, reminds me of a guy I see around Bristol sometimes who looks straight out of Mad Max.

I once bumped into a guy at a Chippenham Esso, he was riding an old Harley which I think he put together for hill climbs or flat track, the bike almost destroyed my ear drums on start up but I must admit, old harleys are cool af.

  • The Rotax engine gives me the heebies. On the one hand, indestructible. On the other hand, all parts are not cheap or readily available. But still, it says Harley but it’s basically an Armstrong, which makes it okay.

  • passed this while cycling. quite a sight and in really fantastic condition. pretty sure it's called a panhead, c1950

  • Costs more than most people bought their cubs for

  • Which insurance site is best/cheapest? My quotes so far: £172 from Bikesure for an Aviva policy, £209 from The Bike Insurer for an Express Insurance Services policy. (TPO, locked compound in Brixton, '95 K1100RS)

  • Breakdown and recovery for £25 pa with a £30 excess https://www.topcashback.co.uk/emergency-assist-breakdown-cover/

  • @DethBeard and @pdlouche thanks for suggesting adventure-ish boots.
In the end I went with the TCXs as I got a good price for a lightly used pair, personally delivered some 300 kms to my worklplace by a lovely chap.

  • Those look good, what's your impression of their width? I have rather wide feet and I'm struggling a bit with finding good boots. I have read TCX makes them a bit roomier though...

  • If my TCX Rook are anything to go by, they are a true/wide fit.

  • The perfect photo to explain countersteering came up on a shitposting page:

  • Avoid Sidi at all costs if you have wide feet.

If anyone is after a pair of Sidi Adventure 2 gore-tex boots in 43, let me know. Worn less than 10 times and going cheap.
