    I've been on the edge of starting a modular rack for a while but it's noticeably the same thinking (and G.A.S.) as building a big rig but in a small contained space. I understand the appeal of that though.

  • There are definitely drawbacks to eurorack, beyond just how cripplingly expensive it all is. The small size and cables everywhere sometimes makes it ergonomically challenging compared to a dedicated synth panel. Also you often end up fighting with power and noise issues (bleed is a common problem, both internally with individual modules, and across the power bus).

    It is, however, really good fun.

  • I would enjoy it I'm sure. In fairness I could build one that has the features of all the big boxes I use and sell those and probably end up with a smaller rig and some cash left over.

    If I was gigging I could see the appeal.
