  • Was followed home along the Waterlink Way on Tuesday by a guy singing 'band on the run' at the top of his lungs and very, very much out of tune. He was even good enough to speed up and slow down to make sure he stayed close enough for me to hear him well. Definitely high on life.

Yesterday I was followed through Feltham by someone in a retro LHD Mercedes S600 (huge wafty barge from the early 90s) with a PA system who was calling out road safety advice to me and pedestrians. Most odd.

  • Was shouted at by a van driver yesterday that I was nutcase while he was giving a big thumbs up
Could have been ironic I suppose

  • I've been rumbled.

  • Set off before 7am - previously at the time found the roads nice, calm quiet. Today roads around west already full of streams of private motor vehicles - grim.

  • Saw this the other day and now my twice daily run through Richmond park is infinitely less relaxing.

  • Fuck me that was rainy
Hour and fifty soaking minutes of pulsing pourdowns with headwind, thunder, shit divers and general mayhem
Do love a good commute home

  • shit divers

    Must have been crazy wet

  • Ha ha, that’d be me careering into the swamped verges and water-filled potholes while yelling ‘c*unt!’ at the passing traffic

  • Very nice ride in this morning on fairly busy but very manageable roads, I assume, because of half term.

Which then made me realise that the roads aren't the problem leading to traffic congestion, its just the fact that society pressures us to use the roads all at the same time. If there were more staggered working and school hours you would fix most of the traffic problems...

  • politely told a chap in a car at a roundabout that his front indicator wasn't working.

    his response?

    "your brain isn't working."

  • To be honest that kid was being a dick too...saw the guy coming and moved to block him.

  • nah, he did a check and to swerve on left (while wheeling) I assume you have to move a little right, I dont think the kid did it on purpose

  • Overtake guy has V braeks and a forward facing front qr. Crash was inevitable.

  • It was entirely deliberate, the kids being a twat.

  • The kid might be being a prick but slow down and chill out then. Don't actively barge your way through and then push them. If a car was sweving around the road I'm not going to think, 'oh best get past this bad driver'. I'd stick behind them. Same with a driver close passing a cyclist who's 'all over the place so I couldn't get past any other way'.

  • Kids be kids man. He's not causing any harm. No one should be pushing anyone of their bike

  • If you are approaching from the back you have to take care and are responsible if you cause a collision.

  • The guy shouldn't be pushing sure. But kids be kids? Fuck that, they're out to be dicks and soon enough they'll likely be dicks in a car...

  • Soon they'll be into that rock and roll music too....

  • So [try to] push them off their bike to teach them to be kind humans?

Wait, go by, tell them it’s a sick wheelie. Spread peace and love.
