I changed my name because I made a mistake booking a flight and it was cheaper than changing the ticket
I want to hear this story!

Sick burn for Carrie on the BBC. There's no way Sunak can be seen to spend money on redecorating no. 11, but they must really hate her decor.
The Sunak family will live in the flat above No 10 Downing Street.
This is smaller than the flat above No 11, which has often been used by prime ministers, especially those with children.
But the prime minister’s official spokesman told reporters Rishi Sunak, his wife and daughters were moving back into the No 10 flat they had been happy to occupy when the PM was chancellor.

Maybe there's a golden toilet a la Ceaușescu.

They won’t live there surely. It’ll be like the king, living down the road from the main gaff.

but they must really hate her decor.
Can't imagine why. I used to work for an investor who lived in Kensington in the late 90s. She was in her 80s. Lovely woman but the No11 refurb really gives off 90s mental octogenarian sloane vibes.

You would expect so given her wealth.

Turns out my friend's friend's daughter is friendly with one of Truss's daughters and had a sleepover in Downing St during the Truss premiership - that's a rare, rare claim to fame.

It was all worth it then.

At the time I worked out that it would cost £3080 a roll for wallpaper made of fivers, so £850 a roll from Carrie's mate is a good deal.
I guess Government bonds might be good value to wallpaper with now.

the St Johns Wood Jewish community, but they're in Westminster and all vote Tory anyway
Lots of them don't. Kier was in the synagogue the other week with a relative too.

Technically the whole premiership was short enough to be described as a sleepover?
[here all week, try the veal etc] -

Fuck me. This has remunded me of how many times I saw people refer to him as Sir Beer Korma last year. Specifically the urge to put my foot through the screen every time I did.

Sunak pulling tank on Hunt by choosing the smaller flat at no 10 rather than the hideously expensively decorated flat at no 11 where Johnson lived.

• #1792
This is more like it, possibly getting the thread back on track.

It's a start.
Especially as some tories are calling for an enquiry -

Stopped reading at full enquiry, honestly these MP's and Politicians love wasting money.

Is he not affectionately known as Keith?
-
• #1797
I find that, and keef/ kief incredibly tiresome. All that changing someone’s name carry on is fairly pathetic.
-
• #1798
Agreed but v amusing as a right of centre observer.

The Keith thing came about initially due to autocorrect turning Keir into Keith. It stuck because it sent died-in-the-wool centrist dads into fits of apoplexy. Dads who had no issue referring to Starmer's predecessor as Magic Grandpa (or far worse), of course.
I like it. It's mild ribaldry, totally inoffensive and winds all the right people up.
