  • i’ll have a similar decision to make soon, internal insulated plasterboard and not sure if i should pay them to either skim or tape/fill. i could do the taping myself in a slow meticulous way and then tourpet fine fill and feather out if there are any noticeable edges as have done plenty of this before.

    My only concern with taped and filled joints is if the texture difference between filler and boards is obvious or not that noticeable when feathered out and painted?

    So long as you sand it smooth it looks the same once painted.

    Many other countries think we’re weird skimming over pre finished board.

  • And from experience the areas you obsess over and get perfect you never look at again in such detail.
    I’ll probably get them to quote separately and then if i get busy (self employed) they can do it but otherwise i’ll get stuck in, i’ll be doing floor sanding/finishing and new skirting myself so just another couple of days work.
