Fizzy water
Our mate have one of those compressor machines to make fizzy water and its great. We have absolutely no where to put anything like that but I'd love one.
I guess I could get an old soda bottle...

Some versions claim to be fully waterproof.
I don’t think they’re hugely different from the shower panels you can install, though you’d need to be careful to stick them on the wall properly, as gravity won’t hold them flat.

this is the sort of practical advice I need.

On the other hand, I have a quooker with boiling, chilled and fizzy and it’s great.
Toddler has zero interest in it or ability to reach it let alone turn the thing on.

I don't have one, but when we stand our 2 year old up at the sink to wash her hands, etc she likes to grab anything in reach and particularly enjoys turning taps on and off. One with boiling water coming out would be stressful.
I did briefly like the idea of one (pre-child) but we probably don't use enough boiling water to justify it and they take up a surprising amount of room in the cupboard below.

I’m loosely entertaining the idea of a boiling water tap after discovering the joys of near-instant gravy. My place doesn’t need to be child friendly though, if anything I want it to put off any ideas of childcare opportunities

Fizzy water, aka party water, tap is for the real hotshots.
If you ever hope to amount to anything this is your chance @Tenderloin -

Fizzy water tastes like farts though.

Why do you taste farts

Out of curiosity where do they wash their hands?
I think if you're not going have them washing hands in the kitchen sink or if the boiling water tap can be located next to the hobs, then you reduce the risk.
Personality/temperament of your kid is a big factor too. #2 might not play with it when they're at tap reaching age, but #1 would 100% have a crack at washing their hands with boiling water to see what happens. My understanding is mini-Tenderloin's appreciation of risk and rules is still TBC.

Why do you not?

The tap has a normal lever for hot / cold water which cannot dispense boiling water.
The collet around the base of the tap needs to be tapped twice then turned in order to dispense boiling water. Aside from the fact that I supervise our 2 year old if she's washing her hands (she needs her tower moving to that part of the kitchen at the very least), she wouldn't be able to activate it even if she wanted to.

I’ve never before asked myself that, I shall consider

Double check the feed line diameter. My gravity fed system cries every time I turn it to hot due to the micro bore and lack of pressure.

That's good. The one where we stayed was just like the old school office ones that look like a soap dispenser, and the one in my office is newer but easy to use.

Honestly, we use ours every day. Even more so no we're 60% wfh.
Only watch out is if you're in a hard water area; we are and had it installed at the same time as a water softener. I think they require additional maintenance if you do live in a hard water area without a softener.

That's a good first step. Are you going Velfac windows? I can't remember? Sorting windows for my loft is a pain.

Thanks, i think i asked before and you recommended (though i have now actually started contacting firms for quotes) will give them a call.

Unless you get a quooker and you need a phd to work it. Lol

The one and only one ive fitted was a quooker with the boiling water and fizzy water. The person who got it loved fizzy water and after the novelty died off I think she uses it seldom now.

We got the Victorian plumbing one, it doesn't scratch the design itch, but the boiling water is really helpful. Looks ok in the kitchen
