It's TV time again. Been using a projector for the last few years which has been great as we only watch stuff on the weekend. Just redone the living room though and we're thinking TV. Had a look online and it seems like you can get something decent 40-50", 4k for around £500? As I haven't had a tv for years, and the projector is a standard 720p one, I think most ones will impress us.

Is there anything in particular we should look for or avoid? Coloured backlights seems cool? Audio wise we have some good B&O bluetooth speakers that we'll hook up, so don't need anything sound wise.

  • At that price there won't be much difference with the main brands and you can't really go wrong with LG or Samsung. Don't worry about any of the 'smart tv' functionality as you're better off with an external device (roku, firestick etc) anyway as it'll just be out of date in a couple of years and you won't be able to update half of the apps.

The main thing when buying a new TV is turning off all the picture enhancing bullshit that is on all TV's by default.
