We have the same problem with this guy. He was like a basket ball when he came to us. They just kept a full bowl of food in the room and he just helped himself. Like a doggy buffet.

Ha!
That is a glimpse into my dogs future, if he keeps eating the way he wants to.
(Also a border)Edit: not ha! really. Good job on getting them to a healthy weight.

It’s tough because when he seems anyone eating food he harassing them a lot. His presence turns into a whimper then a bark. He’s a got a massive bark for a little dog

So, after posting a while back about looking for a staffie puppy... we're now committed. Still un-named female (the children are busy drawing up shortlists of wildly unsuitable names), coming to live with us in 2 week's time.
Got a lot of reading up & shopping to do before then. If anyone in South London has crates, etc that they're looking to sell secondhand, let me know.

Just wanted to come on here and say please hug/cuddle your dogs for me and to think of the good times. We lost our 15yo westie on wed. Maddie leaves a massive hole and we'll never forget. They are here with us for what is not very long really and we should feel lucky. To Maddie- we love you, we miss you, we'll never forget you. Thank you for being you and for being ours.

So sorry to hear that. She looks like a sweetheart.
Just given our boy a stroke and he looked at me and huffed before curling back up. Bless him.

I came to ask, can anyone recommend a decent light colar or perhaps harness attachment. With the dark mornings need something for the idiot.

I think Crumpet might be tired...

+1 and also general winter/dark dog advice... Last year Daisy was an on-lead dog other than some trips to secure enclosed fields. This year she's off-lead daily and has built up enough fitness she basically needs it or she'll get VERY bouncy and frustrated. Do people play fetch in the dark? I feel kinda nervous about it. Seems like light-up balls and harness/collar are bare minimum. Is there anything else I should be thinking about?

My brother's lurcher has jingling bells on his collar if he's going for a walk anywhere he can zoom off into the woods, so you can get a general idea of where he is even if he's deep in some bushes rolling in fox shit.

^ top tip: search for falconry bell on ebay if you're looking for a collar bell for your dog.

We got our puppy, Ada. She's great.
Also really hard work, particularly as children off school for half term and are even less helpful than I predicted.
Would elaborate, but typing this is about as much time as I'll get to myself today.

She's lovely! We're bringing our first puppy home next week, expecting it to be hard work but not sure anything will prepare us for the reality...
Any recommendations for waterproof jackets for dogs? Crumpet absolutely hates the rain, I was wondering if a jacket might help. Photo of Crumpet sulking this morning for reference.
