You can go a lot cheaper than that. I just bought a 42" 4K Hisense for about £260, mainly for use as a monitor. Picture doesn't seem great out the box, but I haven't even touched the brightness yet, and I'm not getting my expectations up for the money.

It's TV time again. Been using a projector for the last few years which has been great as we only watch stuff on the weekend. Just redone the living room though and we're thinking TV. Had a look online and it seems like you can get something decent 40-50", 4k for around £500? As I haven't had a tv for years, and the projector is a standard 720p one, I think most ones will impress us.
Is there anything in particular we should look for or avoid? Coloured backlights seems cool? Audio wise we have some good B&O bluetooth speakers that we'll hook up, so don't need anything sound wise.
