  • Seeing as the only thing that you didn't do was buy a card in advance, I don't see why the FW delegate can't let you buy one retrospectively or just accept the points once you have posted off your £1. The challenge is based on trust anyway. He accepted my four points for 2022 season. One was a DIY and the other was validated by the organiser in the normal way (I didn't have a FWC card at the time).

    The one main thing you need to do with DIYs is let the org know BEFORE you ride it. That might be the issue. Even if they don't see the email saying you're going to ride something, my org will be ok because the email was sent before I left the house.

    Yep. I've got out of bed and submitted my DIY 10 minutes before getting on my bike before now.

  • Maybe, yes, I wondered if the DIYs were entered properly in advance. The rides need to be entered in the normal way with a virtual brevet card. No one knew I was turning up with one gear in advance and my points (four precious points) were accepted to the FWC.
