Suggestion that Rishi and Boris are cutting a deal, the source is in the comments

Bloody hell.
BJ will make a shit chancellor.

Rishi should hang him out to dry with nothing but egg on his face but will be mildly amusing seeing Boris saying he fully backs Sunak given it is Sunak's resignation that triggered his downfall

The suggestion is that Johnson will win in a membership vote so it's Sunak's only chance of a job (integrity aside), but no-one seems to mention that the fact Johnson's making the offer means that he isn't confident he has the numbers to get to the membership vote.

Why was Boris on holiday? Parliament is sitting and he is still an MP.
-
• #1332
Because he's a cunt.

This being the only entry on the Johnson flowchart

whilst things I didn't believe could happen have been happening fairly regularly of late, I can't see that Sunak would serve in a Johnson govt when he did that like a few weeks ago.
Brady has done an interesting thing with the MPs "intention" stage of the process which is clearly designed to force the candidate with the lesser parliamentary support to stand aside and avoid having to go to party members, which everyone knows is a shitshow.
Penny isn't going to get 100 votes so it's a BJ vs Sunak showdown which I think Sunak will win at the "intention" stage, unless some unholy deal is done in between the two of them, in advance of that.

Lots of rumours tonight about a possible Boris Johnson climbdown. One well-placed Conservative donor suggests that Johnson is preparing to back Rishi Sunak, with both men meeting this evening. The former Chancellor is currently well-clear of the former PM on declared endorsements

Lots of suggestion that Boris doesn't have the numbers and it is all bluster to try force momentum with the 2019 intake

Johnson gets to save face by playing kingmaker and then fucks off back to the Caribbean?
result.
-
• #1337
He's been suckling on the teat of the future earnings gravy train alternating with paid for luxury holidays. He won't really want to have the hassle of being back in the firing line.
He'll 'gracefully' endorse Sunak, be seen as the kingmaker and piss off on another trip. Maybe wangle himself a cabinet job with the least work and most grift opps.

To each their own. I don't feel my child is useless and she has her diagnosis.
I was trying to make a point about the article.
-
• #1343
Because he absolutely doesnt give a fuck, insane that he cant just be sacked.
-
• #1344
Yes. I was trying to make the point that the article seemed to be trying to do this. Not me.
Anyway, I would like to apoligise to the group.

Steve Baker declares for Sunak, says a return for Johnson would be a "guaranteed nailed-on failure".
Even the headbangers realise the game is up for Johnson.
-

I think this, as almost everything in the formalities of UK politics, is due to the honour-based system it works by.
If I’m not mistaken, MPs don’t have contracts that state anything about when/where they should do any of their work really - in their constituencies or the commons - nor how much work to do.

• #1347
But Boris is still a cunt

• #1348
oh absolutely! the lot of them are

This.
It’s all Boris wants. Made a life peer. Never have to work again and keep getting away with everything he can.
in my experience, some doctors are pretty fucking useless at this as well.
that aside, I wholeheartedly support your point.
