How do I bathroom / kitchen / extension? etc.

I’ve had the flu for a week or so - so it’s stalled and waiting for me to decide about cladding. I think horizontal is the way to go - dbr made a good point about being true to the original design - which was horizontal shiplap. The issue I have is that the upvc on the main facade doesn’t match an off the shelf timber pattern. And the fascia itself is 1.5 boards deep rather than 2 full. I mocked up using smaller timbers - but not convinced.
