Does anyone trade in ETF's? I know next to nothing about it and investing in general, other than dabbling very briefly in penny shares about 10 years ago.
Is there a definitive/go to guide for dummies? Cheers

Buy baskets of them via nutmeg or vanguard or whatever.
If you want to buy selected ETFs then get a dealing account on the cheapest platform and drip buy through that.

I use InvestEngine which is just about the cheapest for choosing from a selection of fund providers. Decent enough platform and customer service from my experience so far.
Referral code below in case it’s of use. We each get £20https://investengine.com/referral-welcome/?utm_medium=share&utm_source=growsurf&grsf=i2ahv4

meta sp down 23% today on earnings release. nuts
-
• #3613
apparently meta was "growth" and is now "value", so a lower valuation perhaps is appropriate.

When I remortgaged the broker told me it is not possible to increase the loan as part of the process, only for specific planned improvement work. I would double check how easy it is to get equity out as part of a remortgage process.
Depends on your situation but above your allowance interest is taxable at marginal income tax rate -

I had no issue doing this five years or so ago. Property value had gone up a fair bit so LTV was fine.

Looking to start diversifying savings a bit by opening S&S ISA
1) I know Hargreaves Lansdown have been dicks, are there are any dramatically better products out there?
2) is now a stupid time to open one with economic uncertainty abounding?
Thanks in advance -

You looking to pick your own stocks? If not Vanguard and Nutmeg are two obvious providers.

Trying to help my old man work out the cost of some shares he has had from an old job 30 years ago to help with a CGT calc.
What do people do if they have no idea? Just do your best and hope hmrc don’t ask? Assume 0 and take the hit?He has the rough date so going to pick a price from around then I think. The company secretary and even the place who hold them and manage it can’t help as it was so long ago.
Nothing significant just want to get it right for him
Cheers
We're looking at similar, but holding back 6 months of payments for contingency, in case we can't otherwise pay the mortgage.
