  • Everyone seemingly forgets that Johnson won the London mayorship not once but twice. So he was more than able to appeal to the centrist dads. What if he gets elected, and hangs out in the one-nation wing of the Tory party? Keeps Hunt, and fills the cabinet with people who aren't nuts. Which would be the rational thing to do.

  • That was the pre-Brexit Johnson, who had a continual stream of anti-Labour/Anti-Livingstone propoganda peddled daily by the Evening Standard.
    The first Johnson term saw some policy implementation, the pipeline left by the Livingstone team.
    The second Johnson term saw drift and inactivity because he had been so indolent in years 1-4 the policy pipeline was empty.
    Can't find a link, but I thought the Johnson victories were heavily dependent upon the outer London boroughs.
