  • I'm off to Paris for a few days work this weekend - I really want to take a Brompton and experience Paris like that, has anyone taken one on a Eurostar recently - what do they mean by a protective bag for it? Can arrange if needed, but obvs don't want to get to the station and have got it wrong!

Edit - I went a few weeks ago and a guy rolled out of Gare du Nord with one, didn't see what he did about any type of bag though!

  • Nah, no bag needed, just carry it on and wedge it between the seats.

A folded Brompton is a luggage not a bike.

IF you ever need a bag, the IKEA Dimpa is the perfect bag.

Edit: Didn't see the Dimpa was already mentioned.

  • I bought a bag on eBay for use on Eurostar (listing was like "Brompton bag - heavy duty - perfect size - luggage" etc.). Cost me about £12. When it arrived, I realised it was a detagged version of the IKEA Dimpa bag. Thing is, that's such a good hustle someone's come up with, I'm not even mad. And yes, it's a perfect size.
