Just take off all the stays and bolt the guard to the rack, proper job.
Ok, I've done that. Not very pretty, I had to cut a bolt with some bolt cutters and take out the stay bolts leaving four holes. Any suggestions for filling them up other than heli tape? Also got one of the telescopic wheel things from AliExpress.

I only removed one stay. There doesn't seem to be any adjustment to allow me to move the rack away from the mudguard. Just worried it will crack the guard over time. I guess I can bend the tab up a bit.
