All bits ordered for Mattnav's new bike. The last bits ordered have already arrived, the first bits ordered are still in the ether somewhere, and today there's a postal strike. Looks like a next weekend build, not this.
Gonna have to find summat else to occupy my time this weekend.

A Cross Check, with some functional bits and some nice bits.
He wanted a bike that could take bigger tyres and mudguards, but definitely didn't want disc brakes, which kinda made me smile, but also limited otp options.

I think it's occurred over time (the weening), we've been riding together for nearly 4 years, I've dropped subtle hints, then he started asking hypothetical questions a couple of weeks ago.
Last weekend he gave me a brief outline and a budget, and told me to get on with it.

Will most likely have a set of wheels for sale next week(ish). Kinlin xr31t, Hope RS4 hubs, DT comp spokes, all black.
Gimme a shout if they may be of interest, will do a classifieds once I've taken the tyres off and cleaned the wheels.

Cowchippers have arrived from Germany. That'll fill a portion of the time that should have been spent building Mattnav's bike.

Cowchippers fitted. Looking forward to a test ride later. @Tijs , yes I did use the same bar tape, so it's been on three sets of bars now.

And, Specialized really fucked up when they stopped making/selling Roubaix bar tape, it's the best, wrap it with low tension, nice n squishy, wrap it tighter, still some padding, wrap it almost to the point of snapping, perfect!

They probably stopped making them because you kept rewrapping instead of rebuying.

Yeah, I don't think big S were relying on me for their profits, but your point has some merit.

Wheels are 700c, 19mm internal.

It certainly is. Always a great bike but the cowbells and cowchippers are much nicer looking I think than the ritcheys
