The Parliamentary Tory party is no longer reliant upon the fund raising from constituency parties.
The Parliamentary Tory party can fund raise from dubious sources, for £100k for a tennis match with so&so, or £xok for a meal with so&so.
Profits from the local Conservative association from the bar and £25 a head dinner/dance events are irrelevant these days.
The local Conservative associations have been infiltrated by the various shades of Kipper tendency, which is why ever more unlikely candidates are selected in safe Tory seats, (see Truss, Raab, Kwarteng, Badenoch, Braverman, and other Britannia Unchained authors for more detail).
Dominic Grieve won't be re-selected for Beaconsfield.
