Gravel / Gravé / Gnarmac / Groad / ATB

I had the privilege of riding some of the ludicrously steep gravel north of San Francisco this weekend. And some of the similarly ludicrously steep roads in the city. Even on the bohemoth of the hire bike it was great fun. The only advantage of work taking me away from the family for a fortnight.

Guys, it's the mountainbikers dream drop bar bike.

As a life long Marin fan, I find that repulsive. I would still ride it nonetheless.

Ugly it is, but it is interesting to see longer wheelbase gravelbikes. It seems kind of contradictory though with such a slack angle but no space for proper mtb tyres. So is it trying to be a drop bar mtb or a gravel bike.

The new Curve is long too and takes bigger tyres, but is less slack. Looks better. Might already feel boringly stable for some.

And then the numbers are not that far from the Stooge Rambler, more of a mountain bike, but still with 68mm bb and 400mm a-c fork etc.

Mr Stooge makes good frames, and this one makes so much sense.

I've heard this. However, I don't care if those are the best damned wheels in the known universe, they're still a crime to my eyes.

Mr Stooge does make great frames, problem is Stooge customers tend to build them a bit... weird.

Yes, they are a bit special, those wheels.
Kind of the only black spokes trend taken to the extreme.
