I don't necessarily agree with you, but think that given the advances in fusion technology we start getting into the habit of distinguishing the two in speech.

No.

Yes.
Tidal power, which we don’t use at all, could generate way more energy. Expensive but not as expensive as nuclear once you consider disposal. And a lot less risky. And then there’s the sun. We really are at the infant stage of technology to harvest it directly.
