This is a nice little series of vids about the tube network with my nearest tube featuring in this episode ( although I only tend to use it after my trains stop running as I did on Thursday evening after a few beers. I then have to get on the 93 to North Cheam and then it’s a seven quid Uber home from there #painfuljourneys)

Dutch man bought two cabins in the Italian Alps. Very good filmmaking and easy to immerse yourself and live vicariously through his videos.
He also made a small series on his bicycle trip across the Americas.
There is a 3h video summary now that it's been 1 year since he bought the land, if you don't feel like watching all the episodes individually:

Have been enjoying Froome's channel, it's pretty relaxed:

and looks like there is a new Geowizard coming with Welsh Gregg:

love this, the mood, the night scenes and the score, it's more a short film than a report or documentary of a ride. Makes a nice change from every other influencer race video coming out of Atlas mountain race or badlands, etc.
Was better viewed with headphones on for the score and sound mixing.

that's a good one! i've been enjoying these videos quite a bit lately, bit of a guilty pleasure.
so many questions though...
mainly, why would you?
does car insurance cover stupidity? -

I think there's something about being in a car that insulates people from the idea of consequences. You're quite unconnected to what's happening outside, the weather, the road surface, a metre deep river etc.

This week i have been mostly watching Pop Culture Detective, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O7YnbGszcb8
Good breakdowns of creepy tropes. Might ruin a few movies for some.

If I understand correctly, they have captions added for many languages.

You'd think the queue of eager spectators with smartphones at the ready would offer some sort of clue...
-
• #543
Yeah, you’d think. Guess it underlines my thinking that a car just insulates you from the outside world.

Was gonna say the same thing.

Getting in to Japanese vending machine channels. The style of this is nice and calm.

I love all his videos. Using them to plan a trip.
Was fortunate to travel to Japan in 2019, went to the most northern part of the nation on the top tip of Hokkaido. It was in the middle of a blizzard and -13c, thought I was the most intrepid traveller. When I got there, could have a coffee from a vending machine, then the service bus turned up. -

Ha! Yeah the channel definitely tempts me to visit.
