What generation you looking for? I've got one kicking around here that never gets used I think

I only need 1080p and it's just as a casting device so whichevers cheap. I think 3rd gen I'm seeing mostly online

Yeah, I've got one A1469 model here that I just plugged in. I think I stopped using it when I got a TV with airplay support. I'll message you

Just an update - eventually got myself an entry level M2 Air. Been using it for client work this week and also some music in the evenings. Nothing heavy yet but so far its been brilliant - speed, battery power and uses office 365/outlook well. This is my first time using a mac instead of a windows based laptop and was worried about compatibility issues but seamless so far.
Now looking at getting a monitor when the next invoice is paid. Decent Dell one at £25o atm. https://www.currys.co.uk/products/dell-s2422hz-full-hd-23.8-ips-lcd-monitor-silver-and-black-10234752.html

That seems expensive for a 1080p 24" monitor... you can get 4k 27" for similar

Want multiple usb c input as well as 2 USB ports so any recommendations for where I can find 4k that offer that would be 👌

I’m going to get shot down for this suggestion, but the LG 24MD4KL is currently £507 at Amazon, which is a bargain of a price. IMO it’s by far the best 4K 24” screen for a Mac. It’s a single cable solution which works with the brightness and volume buttons on you laptop and is really well built and pretty. I only got rid of mine to get the new Apple 27” display.

About £250 over my budget though 😔

I have the 27" version. £££ but never regretted it. All other monitors looks shit since getting it

That’s a good option, thanks.

That it is!

Yeah these are good. That's a good price for it too.
Worth noting that 4k monitors cause scaling in OS/X - if you want a true Mac experience it has to be 5K (and the crazy price you pay for it)

You can use BetterDisplay to fix this.

• #19791
Interesting - what problems does that fix? Might be a heathen, but I've never noticed issues per se with scaling.

4k at 24 inch is fine. 4k on larger monitors gives you a choice between scaling or having everything be too big.

Interesting, will take a look, thanks.

Anyone selling a MacBook. Partner needs one. Ideally newer than 2017 or something.

Does £200 get you a usable iPad for classroom stuff like note taking, using a stylus for drawing etc?
It’s for my partner while she does her PGCE and trying to figure out what budget I should have for an iPad, keyboard, and stylus/pen.

• #19797
You'd probs get a old iPad pro for about that money. That's what I'm still using for drawing.

Daughter got a new iPad, pen and keyboard earlier in the year. Total cost was £1000+ Obviously all new. Unfortunately, I doubt £200 will cover it.

Aye forgot to say definitely second hand! And older gen not a problem. Just trying to figure out a reasonable price point/generation of iPad that works. For example my 1st gen iPhone SE was bought second hand in 2018 and lasted me 4 years at a cost of £200. It was never going to be all singing and dancing, but did what it needed to for £200. Wondered if I could do the same for an ipad (the £200 not including a stylus or keyboard for now).

Sorry I can’t help more. Someone will have a better idea of older iPads. My daughters old one lasted about 6 years and effectively died. If you know someone going to Hong Kong, check out the prices there - we did that for a couple of Apple things. Good saving if you are buying new - the pen and keyboard could be bought cheaper there.
It’s with numpad but without Touch ID
