Funny thing, I saw some wheels at an antique shop over the weekend that were 32s, or at least measured 32” across. The hubs had quite large nuts on the axles, and no guarantee that they were actually bike wheels.

This is exciting. I've never seen a really big road frame with upsized wheels. I wonder if framebuilders ever make them?

Tyres would be the issue. Maybe they could use penny farthing sized wheels?

No, solid, with a block of wood to push on it to brake.

Also, not that anyone asked but its quite interesting: the large wheel at the front was available in lots of sizes to fit different heights.

You feel the “people around 7 foot tall” and the “people who are prepared to spend £3.5k on a vintage steel road bike” Venn diagram has a really quite small overlap.
