  • I am after a specific G Shock, UK G Shock have confirmed it currently isn't getting a UK release.
Not 100% sure when it releases in Japan.

Anyone got an inside tip for a Japanese store that ships to the UK?
I've heard Buyee mentioned but not sure what it is.
    Any tips greatly received.

  • Excellent, thanks!

Unfortunately the one I am after is OOS, hoping it is pending release rather than gone gone.

  • Drop them a line. I was after a GBX-100 pretty soon after it was released and it was the same deal, OOS. pinged them an email and they then let me know once they had stock.

  • good to know!

  • Pfft what even are those piddlers 😝

Do you work in Hatton gardens?

  • I quite like it. Enough to keep it and wear it from time to time. It’s a busy design, there’s a lot going on (it could have lost the cyclops and the mirrored bezel insert), but I like the novelty of a mechanical GMT in the SKX format (and at the price point).

  • I’m guessing the movement would fit in a 40mm case or smaller. A fully custom, say 39mm GMT (maybe without a rotating bezel) using that movement would be super interesting. If Seiko supply it as an NH series calibre (edit: they do), some microbrand could make something killer.

Also wonder if you could just transplant the movement, dial, chapter ring and hands into an SRPE and get a 40mm GMT. I’m guessing not (edit: you can, but not with the stock 24hr chapter ring, plus you need a double domed crystal).

  • Client brought some nice bits in to show me today.

  • The NH34 movement is, as far as I'm aware, effectively a drop in replacement for NH35/36, although may need a taller crystal to accommodate the taller hand post. I'm pretty sure a couple of microbrands are already putting out watches using them

  • Nice!

Ok to ask a Q via dm?

  • Baltic MR01 is now available for pre-order following its almost immediate selling out a year ago. Delivery not till June 2023. Still, reckon they're great value, a great size and great looking.

  • Yema teasing a Kickstarter for a microrotor dress watch. Teasers so far are green and black movements.

  • Nothing fancy, but these are cheap for an ETA watch

  • Course fire away.

  • Yeah, looks like in terms of dimensions it's almost identical - only a few differences, eg as you say, the height required for the extra hand, and a larger centre hole in the dial.

Some kits here already I see

  • Saw this.

I also never realised PP use a micro rotor.

Hold up. Can't find source. 🙄

  • I pre-ordered a salmon one on the first day and got the Nov 2022 delivery slot. Bit of an impulse buy so hopefully I like it!

(Thou also could be a candidate for my sister's 40th bday present)

  • Happy Friday+12 hours

    Just placed an order.

Could have done without spending the money, but I guess I will be happy when it turns up in 9 months time!

  • New IWC in Battersea Power Station arriving soon
